Alex Peters, PT, DPT, SCS, ATC is the owner of Impulse Physical Therapy. Alex is the only publicly available board certified sports physical therapist and sports residency trained PT in the Buffalo area. He received his Bachelor’s in Athletic Training at Canisius College and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at D’Youville University.
Alex completed the rigorous Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. There, he completed his post professional training program where he became well-versed in a variety of orthopedic conditions in adults and children, such as rehabilitation from ACL reconstruction, Tommy John (UCL) surgery, shoulder injuries in athletes, as well as concussion rehabilitation. During this program he treated people of all ages, from 5 to 70 years old.
Alex also consults regularly with the Canisius University Athletics Department for rehabilitation of their NCAA Division 1 athletes, and he is also an adjunct professor in their Kinesiology Department and performs concussion treatment research with the University of Buffalo Concussion Clinic. Away from his practice, Alex can be found adventuring around Western New York with his wife, Delia, and their two dogs.

Kathryn Piraino, PT, DPT, OCS is a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist, and Performance Physical Therapist at Impulse PT. She earned both her Bachelor’s in Exercise and Sports Studies and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at D’Youville University. Her diverse background includes working in hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient physical therapy settings. Driven by her experiences, Kathryn decided to sub-specialize in orthopedic care. She completed the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where she completed a 12-month intensive training program focusing on the treatment of orthopedic conditions in pediatric, adolescent and adult populations. Following the completion of her residency program, Kathryn was employed at the Cleveland Clinic to further her education and collaborate with leading clinicians. She has a particular interest in working with endurance athletes, including runners. Outside of her professional life, Kathryn enjoys long distance running, hiking, cycling and playing pickle ball.
